Tutorial: Parametric Array's

I discovered a neat little formula to use when creating line based generic models.

Topics covered:

- Creating a Generic Model - Line Based
- Importing and using the line based model
- Adding an Array to the line based model
- Using a formula to Array the model for you

Please feel free to comment or email me with any questions and input!

very nice tutorial. parametric creation of families is very powerful.

THAT TUTORIAL SAVE A LOT OF TIME. THANKS

Nice Tutorial.
Is there a way to take the left over length, should the array distance not divide equally, and divide such that the beginning and end space of the arrayed object is the same?

i have a question about arrays and i cant seem to figure it out. i'm trying to make a simple 2-d parametric screw where you can pull the end of the screw to make it longer and the ribs of the screw will continue as the screw gets longer. i cant seem to figure out how to do this. any ideas?

dis was very important...esp with the makin of my traditional cornices...with varying size n distances between them...now i can just change the properties value n change it according to design....thnxs a tonn man!

With one small difference, this was EXACTLY what I was looking for. The only difference I had was that my bracket started on the end, so it sometimes came up one short. To correct this, I changed my formula to read (Length + 0'-2"/0'-4"). My brackets needed to be 4" apart where in this example it was 6".

Thanks for the awesome tutorial. You rock.

Oops, correction. My formula actually read (Length + 0' 2")/0' 4".

A question about arrays-
Once I make an array parameter, the ability to change the length of the array group (perpendicular to the line) without making a new family is lost. Is there a away to make this an instance parameter as well, even though the array is grouped?
thanks!
