Revit Tutorial - Chair Rail and Two Tone Wall

Gary emailed me and asked about how to create a wall where the bottom half is painted differently from the top half and a chair rail seperates the colors.  I felt it was a good topic for a video tutorial.

Topics Covered:
  • Creating a wall sweep profile.
  • Editing a wall.
  • Creating a new wall style.
  • Splitting wall surfaces.
  • Applying layers to different wall surfaces.
  • Add a wall sweep.

Why wouldn't you just split the face of the wall and paint the upper and lower segments differently?

Thanks,
Bernie

Agreed but that wasn't mentioned in the video and it would have been nice to show both ways... Thanks for all you videos. I appreciate it.
I thought I did mention it in the video.. I apalogize if I didn't but the tutorial was meant to cover just the one topic I covered. I do have a little tutorial on painting walls for different colors.

I highly recommend not splitting the surface or face after creating the wall and then applying the material... If you would really like me to make a video on this approach I would but I would have to put a disclaimer ;)
That was a really good tutoirial. I have one additional question, how would you create a wavey line two tone wall?

Thanks a lot.
such a great tutorial . Thank you so much for sharing
This is very helpful! Thanks, but I will say its time consuming....
