Revit Tip - Why is My Stair Only Showing "UP" Label??

Someone in my office could not figure out why, no matter what the view was set to, the stairs in Floor Plan view only showed the Up label.  Sections were cut, stairs were redrawn, etc...  Couldn't figure it out!

Well, in case you happen to run into this problem here is the reason why....

In this particular file, that check box was defaulted as "on"...  Why is there no "Show Down arrow in all Views"...  Is this even necessary?  Anyways, just a heads up for those of you who might run into this...

Kid I there is also a known bug in that sometimes when a stair has been edited the UP text and sometime arrow dissapear, even if the property you show is on. However if you go into wireframe for that veiw it will display. I have even tired to just set stairs to be transparent and still doesn't show. Thought I would throw that out there so others don't spend hours like I did trying to figure it out.

Standard architectural convention in the UK is to only ever show the Up arrow on a plan.

I presume this was first introduced to avoid the need to have to write the actual direction.

As a feature, I think it was introduced around Revit 8. Prior to that I had never-ending arguments about why we kept indicating the Down direction...
