Revit Tutorial - Mapping Patterns and Materials (Enjoy Revit)

This is a very, very, cool tip.  If you have ever had crazy geometry and attempted to wrap it with a material and then render it... You will know that some crazy results can occur.  So how would you make a soldier course pattern and rendering material follow an arch like this:

By slightly sloping the sweep in the direction you want the pattern to run!  Say what!?  Yeah... I will let HyunWoo from Enjoy Revit explain:

How awesome is that!?!

Make sure you head over to Enjoy Revit and thank HyunWoo for these videos.

Haha... If you are like me you were probable trying some fancy radial array... or an intense custom texture??
Yup. Something just like that. :-)
Absolutely, positively perfect timing. I literally JUST got back from a new project with existing brick arches wondering 'How is that going to happen in Revit?'. Thankyouthankyouthankyou

Looks like you just need to rotate the texture map by 90 degrees. Manage> Materials> Project Materials > Appearance > Image > Angle:

couple of things to remember; might want to duplicate the material first, so you have a 90 a 0 degree version of the material. Also, if there is a bump map or relief pattern, rotate them also.

You can email me if you get stuck - hello(at)revittutorialsonline.com
thats timing man! workin on my college final project and this fukin bricks were killing me!!! I should buy you flowers or something. lol
