BIM for Everyone - Assemble Systems & Revit

On last night's episode of BIM After Dark Live I introduced Assemble Systems and ran through some of the more valuable features of the platform.

I wasn't expecting it to be as interactive of a discussion as it was (as seen from the live chat log below).  But, I think it shows the interest and value of Assemble Systems... Pretty cool!

In the episode I  introduce you to Assemble, but I also used real-world examples to demonstrate how Assemble has removed the barriers of entry and given access to BIM for everyone at Turner Construction.

Some of the topics we discussed were:
- Learn about the way conditioning and filtering a model SHOULD be in Revit...
- Model based quantity takeoff that anyone can do.  Seriously, anyone.  Even “old man Phil” with the drafting board and French curve on his desk.
- Model version comparisons for dummies.
- Model based constructability reviews that don’t require a fancy laptop or a “BIM kid” to help.
- 3-Click model based production (work-in-place) tracking even your most “old-school” superintendent can do.
- Creating real-time and dynamic dashboards to analyze model data.

Attending BILT NA 2019 in Seattle? Say Hello!

Having a 7 month old child has made it difficult to travel this year.  In fact, I told myself I would only attend one conference this year and I am sticking to it.  It's been no secret over the years that my favorite conference by far is BILT NA (formally Revit Technology Conference).

If you have only been following me recently here is a list of posts from previous RTC event...

If you have been following me for a while it should be no surprise that I chose to attend BILT NA in Seattle... Will you be attending as well?  If so, be sure to say hello!

I am also honored to have been chosen to speak again at the conference.  So, if you are having trouble choosing your sessions I'll help you choose at least one slot.  I will be talking about Assemble System's (a program I haven't gotten into too much detail about on the blog, but a program you should all be aware of because it will change the way you "do BIM").

Here is some info on the session....

Let's Assemble in Hartford - Live Event

Did you hear?  Autodesk acquired Assemble. Many of you may have heard this news and thought:

"What is Assemble?"

I have spoken a bit about Assemble here on the blog and appeared as a guest speaker on a webinar with Assemble back in September of last year.  Additionally, I have been using Assemble for just over three years now.  That being said, I am extremely excited to share the good, the bad, and the ugly of Assemble Systems for you here on the blog.

Unfortunately, I am not finished with my big Assemble review post yet....

Fortunately, if you are located in or around Hartford, Connecticut I will be speaking at a networking event about how Turner Construction uses Assemble on August 2nd!

Did You Miss the Assemble Webinar Last Week? Here is the replay...

For those of you who missed it live, last week I co-hosted a webinar with Assemble Systems.  Assemble is a cloud hosted model based quantity takeoff (5D) program.  It runs within your browser and is extremely simple to use... Actually, before I continue re-explaining why I have been pushing Assemble so hard for contractor's just watch the video and find out!

Free Webinar: “Conditioning” with Assemble to Visualize and Communicate Cost

I am going to take a quick break from the Dynamo Days of Summer to let everyone know about a free webinar I will be a guest on next week.  I have mentioned Assemble Systems in presentations in the passed (and maybe on the blog here and there) but have not had the time to fully review it for everyone (yet).  Either way, the webinar will act as a good introduction to the software for those who have not heard of it yet! More about the webinar:

Featuring Turner Construction
Wednesday, August 30 @ 1pm CT
