Veras + Enscape + Nano-Banana: The Future of AI Rendering in Revit (replay)

 

Last night on BIM After Dark Live, I sat down with Bill Allen from Chaos (formerly EvolveLAB) to walk through the newest Veras updates… and honestly, this might be the biggest shift in AI-assisted visualization we’ve seen in AEC so far.

Here’s what we discussed:

• Veras is now integrated directly inside Enscape
Real-time to AI-enhanced renders without exporting, snipping, or jumping between tools.

• Select-by-Object + Select-by-Material
Finally—controlled AI editing. Swap a car, update materials, or refine a portion of a render without rebuilding the whole image.

• Image Interrogation + User Presets
Veras can now describe your image, reverse-engineer the stylistic prompt, and turn it into a reusable preset. Massive productivity boost for teams.

• Brand new Image-to-Video generation
Turn any still render into a 5-second animation—seasons changing, lights turning on, people walking. Zero animation skills required.

• The big one: a new Nano-Banana render engine
This new engine is a game-changer. Cleaner geometry, fewer artifacts, better retention of design intent—and for the first time, 2D inputs can generate 3D-looking outputs.

Not perfect yet… but the trajectory is undeniable.

From Revit to Lumion - The Ultimate Review #3 (Lumion 8 Pro)

"HOLY SH**!"

Those were my first two words when pressing render for the first time in Lumion 8 Pro.  

I have been taking my time getting to know the new release before posting a review.  Today is the day.  In this post I will highlight my favorite new features and why I love them.  I will also talk about my wish-list items (in hope that maybe the next go around will address them). 

But, before you read through the review below you should take a minute to check out my previous reviews of Lumion 6 and 7.  This is a continuation of the series and some of the thoughts and feedback I give on my workflow, process, and opinions of the older versions are still valid.... Revit Tutorial - True Solar / Shadow Studies

Here at TheRevitKid.com, 2017 is going to be the year of "bringing sexy back".  That means many of the tips, tricks, tutorials, and reviews will be related to presentation and visualization.  So, for the first post of 2017 we are going to attack a common problem for many designers using Revit.

You may have made floor plans with shadows in Revit.  Additionally, you may have created solar studies of your designs in Revit.  If so, you have probably run into a little issue when it comes to accurately depicting sun and shadows in Revit floor plans.

By default, your shadows will reflect what the floor plan view shows, which is a cut at 4'-0" above your level.  For typical presentations, this looks great.  But if your goal is to accurately represent the sun and shadows within your space, cutting the building at 4'-0" will not help!
